Thailand hosts China–Thailand Tourism & Cultural Arts Festival 2026 to promote wellness tourism
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) organised the China–Thailand Tourism & Cultural Arts Festival 2026 on March 27 at Chulalongkorn University Centenary Park, bringing together more than 1,000 attendees. The event focused on showcasing Thailand’s wellness offerings and cultural heritage while encouraging tourism and cultural exchange with China.

Speaking at the event, TAT Governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said, “This festival reflects Thailand’s strength as a leading wellness destination, where culture and well-being are closely connected. Through this platform, we are strengthening Thailand–China tourism ties while presenting meaningful experiences that respond to growing demand for balance, health, and cultural authenticity.”
The event was also attended by Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Affairs Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, along with judges from both countries overseeing the performance segment.

Held under the theme ‘Forever Young in the Heart of Thailand’, the venue was designed as a wellness-focused space combining art, performances, and traditional practices. The initiative was organised in collaboration with TAT’s overseas offices in China and other partners, with a focus on engaging travellers interested in health and wellness experiences.
The programme featured a mix of cultural performances and interactive activities. Highlights included Mor Lam Genesis, a contemporary interpretation of Thai folk traditions combined with modern dance, followed by a participatory dance session set to Bangkok City. Eight dance groups from China competed in two rounds, evaluated by a panel of judges. A youth performance representing cultural ties between the two countries included a blend of Chinese violin and Thai vocals performed in Mandarin.

Wellness-focused activities formed a key part of the event, including workshops and demonstrations on health screenings, Thai spa therapies, herbal product preparation, traditional Thai massage, and Muay Thai for fitness. Cultural craft sessions and live cooking stations were also organised, offering Thai dishes ranging from street food to herbal cuisine and traditional desserts.
The festival is part of TAT’s broader health and wellness tourism strategy, aimed at strengthening Thailand’s positioning as a destination for quality tourism and long-stay travel, particularly from China.
