Hyatt Expands in Portugal with Masana Algarve Opening

Destination by Hyatt brand enters Algarve region

Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Masana Algarve, marking the debut of the Destination by Hyatt brand in Portugal. The launch follows recent openings in Lisbon and Madeira and forms part of Hyatt’s broader growth plans in the country, where it aims to increase its room portfolio in the coming years.

Located in Albufeira, Masana Algarve offers a residential-style stay near the Atlantic coast. Surrounded by coastal trails and cliffs, the resort provides access to nearby beaches such as Olhos de Água and Maria Luísa, as well as Albufeira Old Town, known for its cultural attractions and dining options.

Residential-style stays with local design influences

The resort features 33 residences, including one- and two-bedroom suites and villas with garden, pool, or sea views. Each unit includes a fully equipped kitchen, living and dining areas, private outdoor space, and modern amenities suited for longer stays.

The interiors draw inspiration from the Algarve region, incorporating natural materials and soft tones to create a calm and comfortable environment aligned with the local lifestyle.

Focus on guest experience and dining

Masana Algarve combines residential privacy with hotel-style services. Guests are welcomed with locally inspired touches, while a dedicated Guest Experience Manager supports personalised stays.

Dining options at the resort include Casa da Praia by TUPUQ, offering daytime poolside meals, and TUPUQ Restaurant & Bar, a rooftop venue serving Mediterranean-inspired cuisine and beverages in an informal setting.

Wellness and leisure facilities

The resort includes a spa offering a range of treatments, along with facilities such as a sauna, hammam, and sensory showers. A fitness centre equipped with Technogym equipment is also available.

Outdoor amenities include landscaped gardens and two swimming pools, including an adults-only pool, providing spaces for relaxation and leisure.

Masana Algarve adds to Hyatt’s growing presence in Portugal and reflects continued investment in the region’s hospitality sector.
