Ask Bonvoy Launches as Marriott Expands AI Travel Search
Ask Bonvoy Introduces Conversational Trip Planning for Marriott Guests
Marriott International has announced the beta launch of Ask Bonvoy, a new AI-powered search experience designed to help travellers discover destinations and accommodations across the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio through natural-language conversations.
The platform enables users to search for hotels and plan trips using everyday language rather than relying solely on traditional filters. Ask Bonvoy is designed to provide personalised accommodation suggestions based on travel preferences, trip purpose and desired amenities.
The beta version is initially available in U.S. English on Marriott.com and through the Marriott Bonvoy mobile applications for iOS and Android. Access is currently limited to a select group of Marriott Bonvoy members and new users who enrol in the loyalty programme.
According to Marriott, the phased rollout will allow the company to gather customer feedback and refine the platform before a broader global launch planned later this year.
AI-Powered Search Experience
Ask Bonvoy is built on Marriott’s proprietary artificial intelligence platform and is designed to interpret conversational search requests to deliver relevant hotel recommendations.
Rather than relying on publicly available web content, the system uses Marriott’s verified property information to provide details about accommodation options, dining facilities, spa services, golf experiences and other hotel amenities.
Users can search using traditional booking criteria such as destination and travel dates while also exploring hotels through more conversational prompts based on interests, travel styles and specific requirements.
Once travellers identify a suitable property, they can continue through Marriott’s existing booking system to complete their reservation.
Part of Marriott’s Digital Strategy
The launch of Ask Bonvoy forms part of Marriott International’s wider investment in digital technologies and customer-facing innovation.
The company has been working with technology partners on AI-related travel initiatives and previously introduced natural language search capabilities on its Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy platform.
Marriott said future enhancements to Ask Bonvoy are expected to include loyalty-points-based searches and additional personalised travel-planning features.
The company plans to expand the platform’s availability over time to its global Marriott Bonvoy membership base and to other travellers booking through Marriott’s digital channels.
