Marriott Bonvoy Launches China Travel Experiences
Marriott Bonvoy Introduces Destination Discovery Guides in China
Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s travel programme, has partnered with author Ma Boyong to introduce Destination Discovery Guides, a new initiative designed to help travellers explore six destinations across China through local culture and storytelling.
The guides cover Beijing, Xi’an, Hangzhou, Chengdu, Nanjing and Guangzhou, offering insights into each city’s history, neighbourhoods, traditions and local experiences. The content also highlights activities available within and around participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
According to Betty Tian, Managing Vice President, Customer Group, Greater China, Marriott International, the initiative aims to help travellers connect with the culture and character of each destination through a combination of hospitality and local experiences.
Ma Boyong, Marriott Bonvoy’s Cultural Exploration Ambassador and Renaissance Hotels Ambassador Navigator, said travel often becomes more meaningful through everyday discoveries, encouraging visitors to explore cities beyond their well-known attractions.
The Destination Discovery Guides have been developed jointly with Ma Boyong and will be available through the Marriott Bonvoy WeChat official account, allowing travellers to access destination information before, during and after their stay.
Running until October, Marriott Bonvoy will also introduce a series of Marriott Bonvoy Moments experiences in selected cities. Members can redeem points through the Marriott Bonvoy Moments platform for access to Ma Boyong’s book launch events, meet-and-greet sessions and stays at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
From October 2026, Marriott Bonvoy members in China will also be able to listen to Ma Boyong’s latest audiobook through the Marriott Bonvoy China app or by scanning QR codes available at participating hotels, extending the cultural experience beyond the hotel stay.
