Ginger Sindhudurg Expands IHCL’s Presence in Maharashtra

Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the signing of Ginger Sindhudurg, a hotel in Maharashtra that will be developed by converting an existing standalone property. The hotel is planned to offer 50 guest rooms.

Commenting on the signing, Suma Venkatesh, Executive Vice President – Real Estate & Development, IHCL, said Sindhudurg is seeing increasing interest as a leisure destination along Maharashtra’s Konkan coast, supported by improved connectivity and growing demand for short-stay travel. She added that the signing aligns with IHCL’s strategy of expanding the Ginger brand in destinations with growing tourism potential. The company is partnering with Priyanka Sawant for the project.

The hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a swimming pool and a fitness centre. It will also include meeting rooms and a banquet hall for business events, conferences and social functions.

Priyanka Sawant said the partnership with IHCL will introduce the Ginger brand to Sindhudurg and support the destination’s tourism growth.

Located on Maharashtra’s Konkan coastline, Sindhudurg is known for attractions including Sindhudurg Fort, Sawantwadi Palace, Moti Talav Lake and the beaches of Tarkarli.

With this signing, IHCL’s portfolio in Maharashtra will grow to 66 hotels, including 34 hotels under development.
