Hyatt to Open First Hyatt Centric Hotel in Osaka as Part of Namba Redevelopment Project
Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced that one of its affiliates has entered into a management agreement with an affiliate of Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd. to open the first Hyatt Centric hotel in Osaka, which is expected to launch in 2031. This new hotel will be part of a significant redevelopment project led by Kanden Realty & Development Co., Ltd., Nankai Electric Railway Co., Ltd., and Osaka Metro Co., Ltd. It will be situated within a 28-story mixed-use complex that is directly connected to Namba Station.
The hotel will feature 267 guestrooms and a 15th-floor lobby with views of the city. Planned facilities include a restaurant, lounge, meeting and event spaces, fitness centre, and a rooftop bar on the 28th floor.
The brand focuses on connecting guests with the local culture and neighbourhoods of key global destinations. More than 65 Hyatt Centric hotels are currently located in city centres worldwide.
Namba, Osaka’s entertainment district, is known for its cultural landmarks, dining, shopping, and transport connectivity. The area will also benefit from global attention as Osaka hosts Expo 2025 Osaka–Kansai.

“We are pleased to announce plans for Hyatt Centric Namba Osaka in partnership with Hyatt,” said Emi Fukumoto, President of Kanden Realty & Development.
“The brand’s focus on local discovery aligns with the project’s vision for Namba.”
Masahiko Sakamura, Vice President of Japan and Micronesia, Hyatt, added: “Hyatt Centric is well-positioned for Namba. We look forward to welcoming travellers and residents to experience the district through this new hotel.”
