IHG Signs Vignette Collection Hotel in Panchkula, Marking Brand’s Entry into India

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Hanu Overseas to bring its luxury and lifestyle brand, Vignette Collection, to India. The hotel is scheduled to open in early 2026 in Panchkula, supporting IHG’s expansion plans in India’s luxury segment.

Vignette Collection is a portfolio of individual hotels positioned across key urban and resort destinations. The brand allows owners of independent hotels to retain their identity while gaining access to IHG’s distribution network, operational expertise, and loyalty programme. Vignette Collection is built around locally connected stays, signature rituals, and a focus on purposeful hospitality.

Located within the Chandigarh Metropolitan Region, Panchkula is an emerging commercial centre supported by IT parks, automotive businesses, pharmaceutical and manufacturing clusters, public sector units, and national institutions.

The upcoming property will feature 145 rooms, including 11 suites, along with four dining venues, including a signature restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a private dining space. Facilities will include a swimming pool, spa, fitness centre, curated retail, and parking. The hotel will also offer over 2,200 square metres of meeting and event space, supporting demand for corporate events, conferences, and social functions, including weddings.

Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said: “Introducing Vignette Collection to India is an important step as we expand our luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the country. This responds to travellers seeking more personal, locally rooted experiences. Vignette Collection brings individuality supported by IHG’s scale and IHG One Rewards. Panchkula’s year-round demand and economic activity make it a strong location for the brand’s entry.”

Aman Gupta, speaking on behalf of the ownership, said: “We are pleased to partner with IHG Hotels & Resorts to bring Vignette Collection to India. Panchkula is developing as a destination for celebrations, retreats, and leisure travel. Our focus is to create a hotel that reflects its own identity while offering experiences shaped by a sense of place.”

The signing adds to IHG’s development pipeline in the Chandigarh Metropolitan Region, alongside upcoming projects including Crowne Plaza Chandigarh Zirakpur and Holiday Inn and Suites Chandigarh Zirakpur.

IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of 80 hotels expected to open over the next three to five years.
