APPOINTMENT
The Westin Pune Koregaon Park has announced the appointment of Gopakumar G. Pillai as the new Director of Engineering.
Pillai brings over 25 years of global experience across hospitality, infrastructure and property operations. He is recognised for his expertise in hotel pre-openings, technical services leadership, preventive and predictive maintenance, sustainability programmes and energy conservation.
Gopakumar Pillai has worked with several flagship hotels under renowned brands including Marriott, IHG and Accor, across India and the Middle East.
Before this appointment, he served as Director of Engineering / Chief Engineer (Task Force) with Marriott International, where he led multi-property engineering operations across Jaipur, Nagpur, Faridabad and Ahmedabad.
Pillai has also held senior leadership roles such as Cluster Director of Engineering for the St. Regis, Sheraton and Four Points hotels in Kuwait, and Chief Engineer at Mövenpick Hotel Tahlia Jedda.
In his new role at The Westin Pune Koregaon Park, Gopakumar Pillai will oversee and lead the complete engineering and technical operations of the hotel. His main responsibilities will include driving operational efficiency, spearheading renovations, strengthening sustainability initiatives, and managing statutory compliance as per Marriott’s standards.
