IHG Hotels & Resorts Signs Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, Marking Entry into Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Club Chaulani Ltd. to develop Holiday Inn Dhangadhi, a 115-key hotel in Dhangadhi, Nepal. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2028, the signing marks IHG’s entry into Nepal’s Sudurpashchim Province. It aligns with the group’s strategy to expand in emerging and underserved markets across South Asia.

The Holiday Inn brand, which operates more than 1,200 hotels globally, is positioned around consistent service standards and a welcoming guest experience. Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will reflect this approach, offering dependable accommodation that meets the needs of both business and leisure travellers.

The hotel will be located in the city centre as part of a mixed-use development, approximately 8.5 kilometres from Dhangadhi Airport. Its proximity to the India–Nepal border positions it to serve business travellers, government officials, and transit guests, while also appealing to leisure travellers visiting regional attractions such as Shuklaphanta National Park, Ghodaghodi Lake, and Shivpuri Temple.

Holiday Inn Dhangadhi will feature 115 guest rooms, along with four food and beverage outlets, including an all-day dining restaurant, a pool bar, and a speciality restaurant. The hotel will also offer meeting and event facilities, including flexible function spaces and a ballroom. Additional amenities will include a fitness centre and a swimming pool.

Commenting on the signing, Sudeep Jain, Managing Director, South West Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, said that Dhangadhi is developing as a hospitality market supported by infrastructure improvements, cross-border trade, and domestic travel growth. He noted that the hotel is intended to serve both domestic travellers and regional business demand.

Rajendra K.C., Chairman of Club Chaulani Ltd., said the partnership with IHG will introduce a globally recognised brand to Dhangadhi, supporting the city’s role as a commercial and tourism gateway in western Nepal.

The signing of Holiday Inn Dhangadhi represents a step forward in IHG’s regional growth strategy, bringing an international brand to a developing destination.
