Hilton Reports 1.5 Million Volunteer Hours Logged During 2025 Travel with Purpose Week
Hilton’s annual Travel with Purpose Week brought team members together across global offices and nearly 2,000 hotels to participate in volunteer activities focused on community support and environmental initiatives. These efforts supported more than 132,000 community members and diverted over 206,000 pounds of waste from landfills. In total, Hilton team members recorded nearly 1.5 million volunteer hours in 2025, contributing to the company’s 2030 target of more than 10 million volunteer hours worldwide.
Hilton continues to reinforce its long-standing belief that hospitality can have a positive impact on communities. Its 500,000 team members support the company’s Travel with Purpose strategy by delivering guest experiences, creating opportunities for people, contributing to more sustainable hotel operations and engaging in community initiatives.
Over the past year, Hilton has opened close to three hotels per day, adding almost 20,000 new team members across managed and franchised hotels and corporate roles since September 2024.

Katherine Lugar, President of the Hilton Global Foundation, said: “On International Volunteer Day, we recognize the nearly 1.5 million volunteer hours completed by our team members this year. This reflects what is possible through collective effort, and we appreciate the impact being made within local communities.”
A Global Initiative with Local Impact
During Travel with Purpose Week, Hilton and the Hilton Global Foundation encouraged team members to participate in activities that support local needs. Examples include:
Ongoing Support for DC Central Kitchen
At Hilton’s headquarters in McLean, Virginia, nearly 300 team members prepared over 8,500 meals in collaboration with DC Central Kitchen. Hilton has partnered with the organization for more than 10 years, supporting culinary job training programs that provide skills to individuals facing significant challenges. The Hilton Global Foundation has also committed an additional $200,000 to expand learning opportunities through these programs.
Shoreline Cleanup in Singapore
Team members from Hilton’s Singapore office and nearby hotels collaborated with the Ocean Purpose Project to remove plastic waste and seaweed from Pasir Ris Park. Collected plastic was cleaned and converted into hydrogen fuel, while seaweed was repurposed as fertilizer. A total of 127 kilograms of waste was collected, including plastics, general waste and seaweed.
Supporting the Felix Project in the United Kingdom
Hilton team members across the UK worked with the Felix Project, a charity focused on redistributing surplus food to organizations that serve vulnerable groups. More than 30 team members contributed over 200 volunteer hours packing meals, sorting supplies and preparing deliveries. Volunteers helped pack more than 4,500 meals and processed over one ton of sweet potatoes for redistribution.
