Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives Recognized as a ‘Favourite Overseas Leisure Hotel’ by Condé Nast Traveller Middle East
Centara Hotels & Resorts has announced that the Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives has been recognized as one of the ‘Favorite Overseas Leisure Hotels’ at the inaugural Condé Nast Traveller Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards 2025. This honor, determined by reader votes, is a significant achievement for the private island resort, which opened on April 1, 2025.
Being acknowledged alongside various international hospitality brands within months of opening reflects the resort’s growing presence and its connection with travellers from the region. At Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives, Thai hospitality blends with the natural charm of the Maldives, offering guests a sense of space and privacy. The resort features beachfront and overwater villas designed with modern comforts, peaceful surroundings, and direct access to the beach or lagoon.
Dining options include live cooking stations at The Gallery, seafood-focused menus at Bluefin, handcrafted drinks at Sunset Social, and personalised dining experiences at The Club. SPA Cenvaree offers wellness journeys inspired by Thai healing practices and supported by natural, locally sourced ingredients.

“We are grateful for the recognition from the Condé Nast Traveller Middle East community,” said Andrew Jansson, Cluster General Manager of Centara Grand Lagoon Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives.
“This award highlights the ongoing effort of our team to create calm, personal stays that reflect both Maldivian character and Thai hospitality. Our aim is to offer thoughtfully designed experiences and a meaningful connection to the island’s setting, and we appreciate that our guests value this approach.”
