Emirates Group and Rashid Centre Strengthen Commitment to Accessible Talent in the UAE’s Year of Community

In alignment with the UAE’s Year of Community, which encourages inclusion and stronger social connections, the Emirates Group reaffirmed its commitment to supporting People of Determination through an engagement day with the Rashid Centre for People of Determination.

The full-day event brought together members of the Emirates Group Youth Council, senior executives, and students from the Rashid Centre for activities centred on the UAE’s values of unity, compassion, and inclusion.

The day began with a welcome from the Rashid Centre’s management team and students, followed by a programme of musical performances, art workshops, and sports activities. The students showcased a range of talents, reflecting the ongoing guidance they receive at the Centre.

In honour of UAE National Day, students created artwork dedicated to the UAE’s founding fathers: the late His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late His Highness Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum. Selected pieces were displayed at the Emirates Group headquarters, highlighting the collaborative spirit between the two organizations.

Executives from the Emirates Group and specialists from the Centre also discussed ways further to enhance the travel experience for People of Determination, reinforcing the Group’s ongoing efforts to provide accessible and seamless journeys.

The engagement concluded with a musical performance by students to mark the UAE National Day. Certificates of appreciation were presented to participants from the Emirates Group in recognition of their contribution to promoting inclusion and community values.

Oliver Grohmann, Executive Vice President, Human Resources at the Emirates Group, said: “We are pleased to join the Rashid Centre in marking UAE National Day and recognising the abilities of their students. This engagement helps us understand how we can continue improving accessibility across our operations. The commitment shown by the Centre’s leadership and team is truly motivating.”

Mariam Othman, General Manager of the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, added: “We are glad to collaborate with the Emirates Group during the UAE’s Year of Community. This engagement allowed our students to present their talents while reinforcing the values of inclusion and cooperation. We appreciate the Emirates Group’s continued efforts to support People of Determination and to work with us on enhancing accessibility and opportunities.”

Commitment to Accessible Travel

Emirates continues to work with local and international partners to advance its accessible travel agenda. The airline has introduced AI-driven technologies and various solutions to support passengers with accessibility needs.

Earlier this year, Emirates was recognised as the world’s first Autism Certified Airline by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES). The airline provides a range of services and accommodations for travellers with diverse requirements, detailed on Emirates’ Accessible & Inclusive Travel Hub page.
