Trusted Thailand Programme Strengthens Safety Confidence for Visitors
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with public and private sector partners, have launched the nationwide Trusted Thailand certification programme. The initiative aims to reinforce international confidence and highlight Thailand’s focus on safety and service quality as the country welcomes an increasing number of visitors.

At the launch event, Minister of Tourism and Sports, Mr. Artthakorn Sirilatthayakorn, noted that the Trusted Thailand stamp acts as a clear assurance of safety and reliability, encouraging travellers—especially from China—to visit Thailand with confidence. The initiative supports ongoing government efforts to strengthen safety standards, enhance coordination among agencies, promote transparent communication, and provide visitor support.
The event was attended by Mr. Yang Xiaolong, Cultural Counselor of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Thailand, TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool, and representatives from key government agencies and industry associations.

Mr. Yang highlighted the long-standing relationship between China and Thailand, noting that traveller safety plays a vital role in influencing travel decisions. He acknowledged the Trusted Thailand initiative as an essential step toward ensuring safe and reliable travel experiences for Chinese visitors.
The certification evaluates participating operators across four areas: general safety measures, secure digital payment systems, multilingual communication and visitor assistance, and accessible transportation routes. The certification is valid for a period of two years.

More than 5,000 operators nationwide are expected to participate, including hotels, restaurants, attractions, shopping centres, and leisure venues. Certified operators will receive promotional support through Trip.com and TAT’s communication channels.

TAT Governor Ms. Thapanee Kiatphaibool expressed that the Trusted Thailand stamp serves as both a quality benchmark and a shared commitment between the public and private sectors to reinforce Thailand’s position as a safe and reliable destination.

As Thailand and China mark the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations, Chinese travellers represent about 15% of arrivals in the first ten months of 2025—around 3.7 million out of 26.7 million international visitors. The Trusted Thailand initiative is expected to contribute to achieving the 2026 tourism revenue target of at least 2.8 trillion Baht.
