TAT Adjusts Event Schedules and Formats Nationwide for October–November 2025
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced changes to the schedules and formats of events and activities during October–November 2025 to honour and express gratitude for the benevolence of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother. All updates reflect the respectful tone of the national mourning period.
Following the Royal Household Bureau’s announcement on 24 October 2025 regarding the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, TAT reviewed all events scheduled for October and November. Some events have been postponed, while others have been adjusted in format. Certain festive activities have been replaced with cultural and religious observances to reflect remembrance and respect.
The Maha Loi Krathong @ Sukhothai festival continues as planned from 27 October to 5 November 2025 at Wat Chana Songkhram within Sukhothai Historical Park. A candlelighting ceremony will take place each evening at 21.21 hrs. to express remembrance for Her Majesty. The programme features royal compositions, traditional music, and cultural performances, with lighting and décor adjusted to suit the period.
The Maha Loi Krathong @ Ayutthaya celebration will be held from 2–6 November 2025 at Wat Phra Ram in Ayutthaya Historical Park. The event will exclude fireworks and pyrotechnics, focusing instead on cultural performances and royal compositions that honour His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej The Great and Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. Thai crafts, cuisine, and traditional activities will be presented in a setting designed for reflection and remembrance.

The Vijit Chao Phraya Thailand 2025 event, initially scheduled for 1 November–15 December, will now take place from 9 November to 23 December 2025 along both banks of the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. The theme, “Light of Siam – Mother of the Land,” includes drone displays in place of fireworks. Lighting and colour tones will be moderated for appropriateness, and the New Year’s Eve programme will feature a candle-lighting ceremony titled “Light of the Nation” in honour of Her Majesty.

The Amazing Thailand Marathon Bangkok 2025 will take place as scheduled on 30 November 2025, starting at MBK Centre and finishing at Sanam Luang, with adjustments made to reflect the tone of the national mourning period.
