Banyan Tree Samui Introduces Upgraded Spa and Wellbeing Services

Banyan Tree Samui, recently awarded Two Keys in the MICHELIN Guide 2025 for hotels in Thailand, has introduced upgraded spa and wellness services. Guests and visitors to Banyan Tree Spa Samui can now enjoy an enhanced experience that promotes relaxation and balance, from their arrival to departure.

Following a consultation, therapists prepare a customized massage oil using ingredients aligned with each guest’s preferences and needs. Options include lavender, geranium, thyme, sandalwood, rose, cedar, and bergamot. These blends reflect the Banyan Tree wellbeing framework, which is based on eight focus areas: Rest, Nourishment, Connection, Movement, Mindfulness, Growth, Groundedness, and Practice.

Upon arrival, guests are welcomed with a short purifying ritual featuring local refreshments, essential oils, and cedarwood-scented towels. A warm herbal foot soak with Himalayan salts follows before guests proceed to private treatment rooms designed for comfort.

The spa menu features a variety of treatments, including the 150-minute Royal Banyan massage, which combines both Eastern and Western techniques. There’s also the Sukhothai Heritage experience, which showcases Thai-inspired ingredients, and the Tropical Rainmist therapy, which integrates a body scrub with water-based relaxation. Each session ends with the soothing sounds of Koshi chimes and Tibetan bells.

Trained therapists from the Banyan Tree Spa Wellbeing Academy in Phuket provide post-treatment guidance to support overall wellbeing. The spa also features The Rainforest, a hydrotherapy facility offering a circuit of saunas, ice baths, and jet pools.

In 2025, Banyan Tree Samui earned recognition as one of 27 hotels in Thailand to receive a Two-Key or higher MICHELIN distinction. This award was based on assessments of architecture and design, service quality, personality, value, and community engagement. The resort, which opened in 2010, features 88 villas, dining venues, a fitness center, a kids’ club, a library, meeting facilities, and a private beach surrounded by lush vegetation. Villas with private infinity pools are available starting at USD 585 per night.
