The news is being hailed as a positive step in the state’s growth. T R B Rajaa, industries minister, has lauded it as a “monumental step forward for the region” and a “game-changer”. “This project will greatly enhance connectivity and stimulate economic growth, benefiting not only Hosur but also neighbouring districts such as Dharmapuri and Salem, while also providing a significant boost to various parts of Bengaluru.”

Hosur, in Tamil Nadu, is the manufacturing hub for various big names like TVS Motor Company, Ashok Leyland, Titan Industries, etc., whereas the nearby district of Krishnagiri has plants for Ola, Ather, TVS, Tata Electronics, etc. The city is also close to Bengaluru (around 40 km), implying that the new international airport will ease the traffic at the Bengaluru Airport.
