According to a press release published on the Ministry of Tourism’s website, the event was to “mark a significant step in strengthening India’s presence in the Middle East tourism market.” To kick off India’s participation, the Incredible India pavilion was inaugurated by Satish Kumar Sivan, the Consul General of India to Dubai. Furthermore, the Incredible India set-up offered to showcase the brilliance of India as a travel destination, with a “leading delegation comprising tour operators, luxury hotels, wellness resorts, and the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Coorporation.” With the support of the entire tourism industry of India, the country presented itself as a 365-day destination for visitors – a home away from home.

To further the agenda, Cool Summers Of India campaign was launched by the ministry in order to accentuate the lesser-known yet equally beautiful and refreshing destinations one can consider for travelling in India. “The digital campaign challenges the notion of India being too hot for summer travel, emphasising its offerings in hill resorts, including the Himalayas. The campaign seeks to promote India as a holistic destination throughout the year,” the press release stated.

The event was successful in turning quite a few eyes towards the country and an influx of tourists in the coming months is said to be witnessed.
