Zurich Insurance Partners with ITB China 2026

Insurance Partnership at ITB China 2026 Supports Travel Industry Collaboration

Zurich Insurance Group has been named the Official Insurance Partner for ITB China 2026, which will take place from 26 to 28 May 2026 in Shanghai.

The partnership reflects the growing role of travel insurance within the tourism sector, bringing a focus on risk management and protection services to the event’s industry discussions and networking activities.

Zurich Insurance appoints new chief claims officer for Asia-Pacific

Zurich will participate through its local entity, Zurich General Insurance Company (China) Limited, to support engagement with travel companies, destination organisations, and industry stakeholders. The collaboration is intended to encourage dialogue between the travel and insurance sectors, particularly around risk management and service integration.

For ITB China, the agreement introduces additional expertise in travel protection, contributing to the broader tourism value chain represented at the event. The partnership also supports opportunities for collaboration across areas such as insurance coverage, emergency assistance and claims handling.

Zurich Insurance Group operates across more than 200 countries and territories and serves millions of customers globally. In recent years, the company has expanded its presence in the travel insurance segment, including the acquisition of AIG’s global personal travel insurance and assistance business.

ITB Global: Connects the World of Travel Business

Looking ahead, Zurich’s participation in ITB China is expected to support its engagement with China’s travel market, including collaboration with airlines, travel agencies and digital platforms. The company is also focusing on strengthening services such as cross-border claims management and emergency assistance to meet evolving traveller needs.

The partnership highlights the increasing importance of travel protection as part of the overall travel experience, particularly as international travel continues to develop and diversify.
