Ramadan Iftaar at Anise, Taj Coromandel Chennai

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Anise at the Taj Coromandel invites guests to come together for a thoughtfully curated Iftaar experience that reflects the season’s traditions. Served from 6:15 pm onwards, the offering is available à la carte and designed to mark the breaking of the fast in a warm, welcoming setting.

The Iftaar begins with Roohafza infused with rose and basil seeds, paired with dates, a customary and nourishing way to conclude the day’s fast. Guests can then enjoy a selection of savoury snacks, including Thattai, Seedai and Murukku, followed by Onion Cashew Thool Pakoda and the classic Aloo Matar Samosa.

Starters include Galouti Kebab prepared with saffron and ghee, and a Chicken Tikka Roll, leading into a spread of traditional main-course dishes. Haleem takes a central place on the menu, accompanied by Murgh Korma with yoghurt and nuts, Phaldari Kofta with mild spices, and Dal Masoor tempered with cumin and garlic.

Those preferring a more elaborate meal can opt for Gosht Dum Biryani prepared with basmati rice, lamb and saffron, along with Khushka rice. The menu also includes freshly made Lacha Paratha or Pudina Paratha, as well as Butter and Cheese Naans.

Desserts bring the meal to a close with Khubani ka Meetha made from stewed apricots and sugar syrup, and Shahi Tukda prepared with bread, condensed milk and cardamom.

Set within the calm and elegant ambience of Anise, the Iftaar menu offers families and friends a space to observe Ramadan through food and shared moments.
