Inaugural Festival of Arunachal 2026 Concludes at Dilli Haat, New Delhi
The first edition of the Festival of Arunachal 2026, organized by the Department of Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, with support from the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, concluded at Dilli Haat, INA, New Delhi. Held over two days on February 21 and 22, the festival marked an important step in presenting Arunachal Pradesh’s cultural heritage and tourism offerings to audiences in the national capital.
The event recorded over 6,000 visitors across both days, indicating strong interest in the state’s traditions, crafts, and emerging tourism experiences.
Exhibitors representing various tribes and districts of Arunachal Pradesh showcased indigenous handicrafts, handwoven textiles, organic agricultural produce, traditional cuisine and community-based enterprises. The programme featured cultural performances, ethnic fashion presentations, tribal music and the traditional Yak Dance. Audio-visual presentations highlighted the state’s landscapes and tourism circuits.

Pasang Dorjee Sona, Hon’ble Minister of Education, Tourism, Rural Works, Libraries and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, said the festival played a role in taking the state’s cultural identity and tourism potential to a wider national audience. He noted that such platforms help create market linkages for local enterprises while strengthening cultural connections across the country.
The second day was attended by dignitaries from various ministries and departments, including representatives from the Ministry of Development of the North Eastern Region, the Ministry of Tourism, the Lok Sabha Secretariat, and the Government of NCT of Delhi, as well as senior officials from the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. Their presence highlighted the growing national focus on tourism and cultural promotion of the Northeast.

Beyond cultural performances, the festival also served as a tourism outreach initiative, drawing attention to areas such as agro-tourism, sustainable farming, indigenous food practices and responsible travel.

Festival of Arunachal 2026 marked the first time the event was held in New Delhi, opening a new chapter in the state’s efforts to engage with national tourism markets. The conclusion of the inaugural edition has laid the groundwork for future initiatives to strengthen Arunachal Pradesh’s visibility across India.
