APPOINTMENT
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has announced the appointment of Jean-Louis Angulo as Chef de Cuisine at La Maison 1888, its fine dining restaurant and the only MICHELIN-starred restaurant in Central Vietnam.

Previously serving as Sous Chef at the restaurant, Angulo steps into the role with a strong background in fine dining. Born in France to Peruvian parents, his early exposure to diverse cultures across Europe and South America has influenced his culinary perspective.
He trained in Paris and built his career across MICHELIN-starred establishments, including Gordon Ramsay au Trianon, L’Espadon at Ritz Paris, and Le Cinq at Four Seasons Hotel George V Paris, where he worked under Christian Le Squer.
Angulo has been part of La Maison 1888 for the past two years as Sous Chef, and in his new role, he will lead the restaurant’s culinary operations, working closely with Chef Christian Le Squer to deliver the brand’s signature approach to haute cuisine. He will oversee a team of Vietnamese and international chefs while continuing to uphold the restaurant’s established standards.
The appointment ensures continuity in leadership at the restaurant, while supporting its ongoing focus on refined dining experiences and culinary consistency.

Commenting on the appointment, Christian Le Squer, said, “Jean-Louis has grown within our universe of precision and excellence for years. I have absolute confidence in his technical mastery, his integrity of flavour, and his ability to lead La Maison 1888 with both rigour and vision.”

Seif Hamdy, General Manager of InterContinental Danang, said, “With Jean-Louis stepping forward, we are proud to ensure continuity at the highest level while elevating the experience even further, giving our guests the assurance of MICHELIN distinction today and the promise of an exciting new chapter ahead.”
As Chef de Cuisine, Chef Jean-Louis will be ably assisted by a team of talented Vietnamese and international chefs. He will also work side-by-side with Head Sommelier Amedeo Bellini, and Assistant Sommelier Toan Nguyen, who oversee the restaurant’s multi-award-winning wine cellar.
