IHG Signs InterContinental Manila Hotel in Bonifacio Global City

InterContinental brand set to return to Manila with new hotel planned for 2032

IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of InterContinental Manila, marking the brand’s return to the Philippines. The 212-key hotel is scheduled to open in 2032. The property will reintroduce the brand to Manila more than 15 years after the previous hotel in the city closed.

The project is part of IHG’s plans to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in the country. Located in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), a master-planned district that has developed into one of Metro Manila’s key business and commercial hubs, the hotel will feature an all-day dining restaurant, a speciality restaurant and bar, as well as meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom, function rooms, and meeting rooms. Additional amenities will include a health club, spa, and an outdoor pool with a poolside bar.

Vivek Bhalla highlighted the long history of the brand in Manila, with the first property opening in 1969 and operating for 46 years. He emphasized that the return reflects the group’s ongoing interest in expanding its presence in the Philippines and the wider region.

The project is being developed in partnership with Keyland Corporation, Philippine Realty and Holdings Corporation, and Greenhills Properties Inc., companies involved in residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments across Metro Manila.

Jose Ma. Montinola mentioned that this partnership signifies a new phase of collaboration and will contribute to the brand’s return to the Philippine capital.
