Ethiopian Airlines Begins Three Weekly Flights to Mauritius

Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger service between Addis Ababa and Mauritius, further expanding its network across Africa.

The new route commenced operations on 12 July 2026 and will operate three times a week, improving air connectivity between Mauritius and Ethiopian Airlines’ global network.

Improving Regional Connectivity

The new service links Mauritius with Addis Ababa, the airline’s main hub, providing passengers with onward connections to destinations across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East and the Americas.

The route is expected to support tourism, trade and business travel while strengthening ties between Ethiopia and Mauritius.

Supporting Tourism and Trade

Mauritius is known for its tourism, cultural heritage, and expanding economy, making it a valuable part of the airlines’ African network.

The direct connection is expected to offer travellers more convenient travel options while encouraging greater economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

Airline Statement

Mesfin Tasew, Group Chief Executive Officer of Ethiopian Airlines, said:

“Mauritius is a destination with a rich culture and growing economic importance. By launching a direct service, we are expanding travel options for our passengers while connecting Mauritius with our global network. As a Pan-African airline, we remain committed to strengthening air connectivity between Africa and the rest of the world.”

Expanding the African Network

Passengers travelling on the route will have access to Ethiopian Airlines’ modern fleet and convenient onward connections through Addis Ababa.

The launch forms part of the airline’s ongoing network expansion strategy, supporting the growth of air transport, tourism and regional connectivity across Africa.
