IHCL Partners with WAE for Water Solutions

IHCL and WAE Introduce Sustainable Water Systems Across Hotels
Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has partnered with WAE Limited to introduce sustainable water infrastructure across selected hotels as part of its ongoing environmental initiatives.
The collaboration includes a long-term supply of glass bottling plants and water purification systems, enabling hotels to provide treated drinking water while reducing dependence on single-use plastic bottles.
Supporting Sustainable Hospitality
Under the partnership, WAE will install integrated glass-bottling systems equipped with advanced water-purification technology. The treated drinking water will comply with BIS 10500 quality standards.
The initiative supports IHCL’s sustainability strategy by replacing conventional packaged drinking water with an on-site purification system and a reusable glass-bottling system.
Reducing Environmental Impact
The integrated system allows hotels to purify, bottle and serve drinking water on-site using reusable glass bottles.
This approach is expected to:
- Reduce single-use plastic waste
- Lower transport-related carbon emissions
- Improve control over water quality
- Support circular resource management
The solution has been designed for hospitality operations where environmental responsibility and guest service are both key priorities.
Industry Perspective

“We are pleased to partner with IHCL, a company that has consistently integrated sustainability into its hospitality operations. This collaboration reflects our shared belief that responsible operations and guest experience can work together. Through our glass bottling and purification systems, we aim to support hotels with water solutions that reduce environmental impact while maintaining quality and operational efficiency.”
Expanding Sustainable Water Infrastructure
WAE’s systems are designed to help hotels improve water quality management, reduce packaging waste and strengthen operational sustainability.
The company has also been assessed by EcoVadis, covering areas including environmental performance, ethics, labour and human rights, and sustainable procurement.
As hotels continue to adopt more environmentally responsible practices, the partnership between IHCL and WAE aims to support the wider transition towards lower-carbon water management across the hospitality sector.
