Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach Opens as LXR Hotels & Resorts’ First Hawaiʻi Property
Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach, LXR Hotels & Resorts has officially opened following a US$100 million transformation, becoming the brand’s first property in Hawaiʻi.
Located along the Honolulu coastline, the redevelopment introduces updated guest accommodation, dining venues, wellness facilities and public spaces while reflecting the culture and natural surroundings of the islands.
A New Chapter for the Property

The renovation has transformed Ka Laʻi Waikīkī Beach into a resort designed to reflect Hawaiian culture through its architecture, interiors and guest experiences.
Led by Bryan O’Sullivan Studio, with architectural support from Guerin Glass Architects, the redesign incorporates natural materials including wood, lava stone and marble, alongside artwork by local and international artists inspired by Hawaiʻi’s landscapes and traditions.
Contemporary Accommodation

The property offers spacious guestrooms as well as 238 residential-style studios and suites, many featuring fully equipped kitchens, private lanais and views of the Pacific Ocean or Fort DeRussy Park.
The interiors combine contemporary design with materials and craftsmanship inspired by Hawaiian culture.
New Dining Experiences

The redevelopment introduces three dining concepts led by Executive Chef Yoshi Ohata.
- The Kini Room serves dishes inspired by Hawaiian and Pacific Rim cuisine.
- Muse Lounge offers cocktails and small plates featuring locally sourced ingredients.
- Bloom Café & Restaurant focuses on breakfast dishes prepared with fresh produce from Oʻahu.
Wellness and Leisure

The updated Spa Ka Laʻi offers treatments inspired by traditional Hawaiian wellness practices using locally sourced ingredients.
Outdoor spaces have also been refreshed, with sustainability measures incorporated through the use of alternative materials and the preservation of key elements of the original property.
