Blink Designs Guerlain Spa Deauville
Guerlain Spa Opens at Hotel Barrière Le Normandy in Deauville
BLINK Design Group has completed the redesign of the wellness facilities at Hotel Barrière Le Normandy in Deauville, France, including a new Guerlain Spa and renovated pool area.
The project marks the first European hospitality project delivered by BLINK’s newly established London studio and was completed in two phases.
Inspired by Deauville’s Heritage
The redesign draws inspiration from Deauville’s coastal setting, cultural heritage and natural surroundings.
Built around the concept of ‘A Sojourn in Nature’, the spa combines contemporary interiors with materials and textures that evoke the Normandy coastline, creating a calm and welcoming environment.
The project also brings together the heritage of Hotel Barrière Le Normandy and Guerlain, whose wellness traditions span more than two centuries.
Natural Materials Shape the Design
The spa features a palette of natural materials, including French limestone, travertine, Calacatta Oro marble, cedar wood and stone mosaics.
These materials have been used throughout the treatment areas, hammam, sauna and wellness spaces to create a design that reflects the local landscape while complementing Guerlain’s identity.
Clint Nagata, Founder and Creative Partner, BLINK Design Group, said:

“These are materials chosen for their innate relationship with water, light and the landscape beyond.”
Wellness Experience
The new Guerlain Spa has been designed with spacious treatment areas, softly lit interiors and carefully planned transitions between spaces to create a relaxed guest experience.
Commenting on the project, Clint Nagata said:
“The spa asks nothing of you but time. Like the Guerlain treatments delivered within it, and like Deauville itself, it reveals itself only to those who resist the urge to rush. We designed luxury not to be worn on the outside, but instead to be felt somewhere more private and lasting.”
BLINK Expands in Europe
The Deauville project represents a new chapter for BLINK Design Group following two decades of hospitality projects across Asia, the Middle East and the Indian Ocean.
Nagata added:
“Deauville has a particular quality of light, memory and refined leisure that you feel the moment you arrive. Our role was not to impose a design upon it, but to listen carefully and give form to what was already there.”
The completed renovation strengthens Hotel Barrière Le Normandy’s wellness offering while introducing a new Guerlain Spa inspired by the history, landscape and character of Deauville.
