EGYPTAIR Takes Delivery of First Airbus A350-900
EGYPTAIR has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350-900, the first of 16 aircraft on order, making it the first operator of the type in North Africa. The A350-900 will support the airline’s long-haul fleet renewal and network growth, including planned non-stop services from its Cairo hub to destinations such as the US West Coast and North Asia.
EGYPTAIR currently operates an Airbus fleet comprising eight A320neo, seven A321neo, and 11 A330 Family aircraft, including five A330-200P2F freighters.
The newly delivered aircraft is configured with two classes: 30 Business Class suites with direct aisle access and 310 Economy Class seats. It features the latest Airspace cabin design, designed to improve comfort and functionality for passengers and crew on long-haul flights.
The Airbus A350-900 is designed to operate routes of up to 9,700 nautical miles (18,000 kilometres) non-stop. The aircraft incorporates advanced aerodynamics, modern systems, and lightweight materials, resulting in improved fuel efficiency and lower emissions than earlier-generation widebody aircraft. It is powered by Rolls-Royce engines.

Like all Airbus aircraft, the A350 is currently certified to operate on up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with plans to enable compatibility with up to 100% SAF by 2030.
As of the end of January 2026, the A350 Family had received more than 1,500 orders from 67 customers worldwide.
