CzechTourism Strengthens Presence in North India with Regional Push
With the start of 2026 and strong growth momentum from the Indian market in the previous year, CzechTourism is intensifying its on-ground efforts across key regional markets, with a focused expansion into North India.

Building on rising traveller interest and evolving travel preferences, the tourism board is extending its outreach into Tier II cities to strengthen trade partnerships and enhance awareness of Czechia as a diverse European destination. This approach reflects a strategic shift beyond metro-centric engagement, targeting high-potential regional markets with increasing outbound travel demand.
Trade engagement across North India

As part of this initiative, CzechTourism conducted a series of engagements with the travel trade across North India. A key highlight was a dedicated workshop in Chandigarh, where the tourism board interacted with over 30 travel agents from the region.
The session focused on strengthening destination knowledge, highlighting experiences beyond Prague, and enabling partners to design more immersive itineraries for Indian travellers.
The workshop was also attended by Guneet Chaudhary, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh, who highlighted the region’s growing outbound travel potential and opportunities across segments such as film tourism, MICE and destination weddings.
Rising demand from North India
North India is emerging as a key growth region, driven by a mix of aspirational travellers, premium family segments and increasing interest in experiential travel. Demand is also being supported by segments such as destination weddings and curated international itineraries.
According to Barbara Andelová, International Marketing Manager – New Markets at CzechTourism, Indian travellers are increasingly seeking experience-led holidays, particularly in areas such as gastronomy, beer culture and wine tourism—areas where Czechia has strong offerings.
Expanding footprint in regional markets
In addition to Chandigarh, CzechTourism conducted targeted sales engagements in Amritsar and Jalandhar, further expanding its reach across emerging North Indian markets.
Through these initiatives, the tourism board aims to position Czechia as a well-rounded, multi-experience destination while strengthening its presence in one of its key source markets.
Major Guneet Chaudhary, Honorary Consul of the Czech Republic in Chandigarh, noted, “As outbound travel from North India continues to grow, there is clear potential to strengthen engagement across segments such as film tourism, MICE and destination weddings. Czechia’s combination of heritage, accessibility and production-friendly policies makes it an increasingly attractive choice for the Indian market.”
Barbara Andelová, International Marketing Manager – New Markets, CzechTourism, said, “Our engagement in North India reflects a clear shift in how travellers are planning their European holidays today. There is increasing demand for experience-led travel, particularly around gastronomy, beer culture and wine regions, which align well with Czechia’s strengths. Through our growing presence across key North Indian markets, we aim to position Czechia as a well-rounded, multi-region destination for Indian travellers.“
