American Airlines has announced the return of flights from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Maracaibo, Venezuela, and Cap-Haïtien, Haiti, strengthening connectivity across the Caribbean and Latin America.

The airline will launch daily service between Miami and Maracaibo on 14 July, marking the route’s return after a five-year hiatus. Flights to Cap-Haïtien will resume on 1 November, restoring service to northern Haiti after operations were suspended in 2020.

Miami–Maracaibo Service Returns

The airline will operate daily flights between Miami and Maracaibo using Embraer 175 aircraft. The route will become the only nonstop service between the United States and Maracaibo.

The service complements American Airlines’ existing flights between Miami and Caracas, providing additional connectivity between the United States and Venezuela.

Cap-Haïtien Flights Resume in November

Flights between Miami and Cap-Haïtien will restart on 1 November using Boeing 737 aircraft.

The route is expected to benefit travellers visiting Haiti as well as members of the Haitian diaspora living in South Florida and other parts of the United States. The service will also provide convenient onward connections through Miami for passengers travelling from destinations across American Airlines’ network.

Additional Winter Services from Miami

Alongside the route relaunches, American Airlines is increasing frequencies on several international routes during the winter travel season, including destinations across the Caribbean and Latin America.

The airline plans to operate additional services to Rio de Janeiro, San Juan, St. Thomas, Antigua, Tortola, Exuma and St. Kitts, reflecting continued demand for travel through its Miami hub.
