American Airlines Plans to Reinstate Nonstop U.S.–Venezuela Service
American Airlines has announced plans to reinstate nonstop service between the United States and Venezuela, subject to government approvals and the completion of required security assessments. The airline said it remains in close coordination with U.S. federal authorities and is prepared to launch flights once all clearances are received.
“We have more than three decades of experience connecting customers in Venezuela with the United States, and we are prepared to re-establish that connection,” said Nat Pieper, Chief Commercial Officer at American Airlines.
“Resuming service would provide customers with additional options to reconnect with family and support business and commercial travel between the two countries.”
American Airlines began operations in Venezuela in 1987 and, prior to suspending service in 2019, was one of the largest U.S. carriers operating in the market. The airline continues to operate an extensive network across the Caribbean and Latin America, offering nonstop connectivity to multiple U.S. destinations.

The airline stated that further details regarding the resumption of service will be announced in the coming months as discussions with federal authorities continue and all regulatory and security requirements are addressed.
