American Airlines Partners with Pecan Lodge to Serve Texas Barbecue on Select DFW–New York Flights
Beginning next month, customers on select American Airlines flights will be able to enjoy Texas-style barbecue en route to New York, as the airline partners with Pecan Lodge to introduce curated onboard meals.
Founded in 2010, Pecan Lodge is known for its Central Texas-style barbecue and has received recognition from outlets including Food Network, The New York Times and Travel + Leisure. Through this partnership, the restaurant’s dishes will be offered onboard for the first time.
In February, First Class customers travelling from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport to LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International Airport can preorder a Pecan Lodge barbecue platter featuring smoked brisket and smoked sausage, served with mac and cheese, coleslaw, pickles, onions and barbecue sauce.
In March, the menu will change to a smoked chopped brisket sandwich on a brioche bun, accompanied by roasted green beans, potato salad, pickles, onions and barbecue sauce.
Both menu options are available by preorder starting January 11 via aa.com or the American Airlines mobile app.

“As we mark American’s centennial year in 2026, we’re introducing new ways to reflect regional food traditions, beginning in our home state with a Texas-based restaurant,” said Rhonda Crawford, Senior Vice President of Customer Experience Design and Strategy at American Airlines.
The Pecan Lodge collaboration is part of American’s broader focus on enhancing its onboard and lounge offerings. Recent initiatives include partnerships with Champagne Bollinger and Lavazza coffee, as well as the rollout of complimentary Wi-Fi for AAdvantage members, sponsored by AT&T.
