June Festivals Bring Sports, Culture and Travel Experiences Across Thailand
Thailand is set to host a wide range of cultural festivals, sporting events and community experiences throughout June 2026, offering travellers opportunities to explore local traditions, outdoor activities and regional celebrations across the country.
From traditional rocket festivals in northeastern Thailand to marathon events in Phuket and cultural celebrations in Loei, the month’s calendar highlights the diversity of Thailand’s tourism and cultural landscape.
One notable event is the “Kin Lom Chom Balloon @ Yot Khao Dan Phana” festival, taking place from 30 May to 3 June in Nan. The event combines hot air balloon displays with countryside activities and scenic mountain views.
In Roi Et and Kalasin, traditional Bun Bang Fai rocket festivals will bring local communities together with colourful parades, folk performances, and cultural activities rooted in Isan heritage.
Sports tourism also continues to grow in Thailand, with events including the Laguna Phuket Marathon 2026, Amazing Phuket Pickleball Cup 2026 and the Amazing Thailand GI Tour & Trail Running events in Nakhon Si Thammarat and Phetchaburi.
The annual Bun Luang & Phi Ta Khon Festival in Loei, taking place from 20 to 22 June, remains one of Thailand’s recognized cultural festivals, known for its traditional ghost masks, local ceremonies and community celebrations.
Bangkok will also host cultural and lifestyle events, including the Bangkok Bicycle Film Festival and “Kluea Samut: Live Arts and Performance”, which focus on contemporary art, cycling culture, and creative communities.
Meanwhile, regional food and agricultural tourism will feature at the Sisaket Volcano Durian Festival, celebrating local produce and OTOP products from the province.
