Marriott and CG Hospitality Sign Three-Hotel Agreement Across India and Nepal
Three-Hotel Agreement Adds Marriott Brands to Kathmandu and Siliguri
Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global have signed an agreement to develop three new hotels across Nepal and India, expanding the companies’ collaboration in South Asia.
The agreement includes The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu, The Westin Kathmandu, and JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri, with all three properties expected to open in 2031. Together, the hotels will add nearly 450 rooms to Marriott International’s regional portfolio.
The signing ceremony was attended by David Marriott, Chairman of the Board, Marriott International, Rajeev Menon, President, Asia Pacific excluding China, Marriott International, Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, Dr Binod K. Chaudhary, Chairman, CG Corp Global and CG Hospitality, and Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO, CG Corp Global and CG Hospitality Global.
Commenting on the development, Rajeev Menon said the agreement reflects Marriott International’s continued focus on expanding its presence in key tourism and business destinations across South Asia. He noted that the projects are expected to contribute to tourism growth, employment opportunities and local economic activity.
Rahul Chaudhary, Managing Director and CEO of CG Hospitality Global, said the agreement represents another step in the group’s partnership with Marriott International and reflects a shared commitment to developing hospitality projects across the region.
The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu
The Ritz-Carlton Kathmandu will mark the brand’s entry into Nepal. The hotel is expected to feature 150 guestrooms, including 30 suites, along with five food-and-beverage venues, a spa, a fitness centre, an outdoor swimming pool, and club facilities.
The property will also include more than 1,100 square metres of meeting and event space. Located approximately five kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport, the hotel will offer access to several cultural and heritage attractions, including Thamel, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.
The Westin Kathmandu
The Westin Kathmandu is planned to have 150 guestrooms and suites and will be located about 7 kilometres from Tribhuvan International Airport.
Facilities are expected to include three dining venues, a fitness studio, a spa, a rooftop swimming pool, and more than 700 square metres of meeting and banquet space. The hotel will cater to both business and leisure travellers visiting Nepal’s capital.
JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri
JW Marriott Hotel Siliguri will be developed in West Bengal and is expected to feature 150 guestrooms and suites.
The hotel plans include four dining venues, wellness facilities, a spa, an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, and approximately 1,500 square metres of banquet and event space. Located about 10 kilometres from Bagdogra Airport, the property will serve travellers visiting Siliguri and the wider Northeast India region.
The latest agreement further strengthens the relationship between Marriott International and CG Hospitality Global, which have collaborated on several hospitality developments across Asia in recent years.
