IHG Hotels & Resorts Opens voco Bangkok Surawong, Marking Brand’s Entry into Thailand
IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of voco Bangkok Surawong, marking the debut of the voco hotels brand in Thailand.
Designed to reflect the character of its surroundings, voco Bangkok Surawong blends contemporary comfort with local influences, offering guests a relaxed and welcoming stay in the heart of Bangkok. The hotel incorporates subtle Thai design elements and personalised touches, positioning it as a base for exploring the city.

Walid Ouezini, General Manager of voco Bangkok Surawong, said the opening introduces the voco brand’s distinctive style to Thailand, combining familiar comforts with a design-led and approachable guest experience.
The building has been reimagined by Thai architecture firm A49, which transformed the former Tawana Hotel by retaining elements of its Brutalist structure while introducing natural light and open architectural flow. Interior design studio P49 Deesign has incorporated mid-century influences, Thai craftsmanship, and modern design.
The hotel features 244 guestrooms and suites. In line with Voco Hotels’ sustainability approach, the property uses pillows and duvets made from recycled materials and provides bulk organic bath amenities from Antipodes.
Dining options include two restaurants and bars:
Tasca Sabio, offering Spanish-inspired dishes and shared plates
Deckles Smokehouse, serving smoked meats, all-day dining options and cocktails
Additional facilities include an outdoor lap pool set within landscaped gardens, a 24-hour fitness centre and an onsen-style spa. The hotel also offers an event ballroom accommodating up to 200 guests, along with four meeting rooms equipped for conferences and business events.

Located on Surawong Road, the hotel offers access to key areas of Bangkok, including Silom, Sathorn, and Siam, placing guests close to business districts, shopping, and cultural attractions.
Launched in 2018, voco hotels continues to expand its global footprint, with more than 100 hotels currently operating or under development worldwide.
