Baymont by Wyndham Opens First Asia Pacific Hotel in Kunming, China
Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has expanded its presence in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of Baymont Kunming Wuhua, the first Baymont by Wyndham property outside the Americas. The hotel is situated in the commercial centre of Kunming, the capital of Yunnan province.
Baymont by Wyndham operates more than 550 hotels across North America and is recognised for its “Hometown Hospitality” approach, offering consistent and welcoming stays at accessible price points. The Kunming opening reflects Wyndham’s interest in the midscale hotel segment and the ongoing recovery of travel demand in China.
Joon Aun Ooi, President, Asia Pacific, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, said: “Baymont hotels represent comfort, familiarity, and community. The debut in Asia Pacific introduces the brand to new markets and offers a model that supports owners and regional growth.”
Situated near key business and leisure landmarks, including Yunnan Wildlife Park and Cuihu Park, Baymont Kunming Wuhua features 92 guestrooms with flat-screen HDTVs, coffee and tea facilities, minibars, and dedicated workspaces, ideal for both business and leisure stays.
Amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, onsite parking, fitness facilities, and daily breakfast. The hotel also offers 300 square metres of meeting space across two venues, accommodating up to 180 guests for conferences or 150 for banquets, suitable for corporate events and social functions.
