Minor Hotels to Develop Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort in Argentina
Minor Hotels has announced the signing of a new Anantara property in Ushuaia, Argentina, with plans for the opening in early 2028. The Anantara Ushuaia Patagonia Resort will be situated within the Costa Susana master plan development, nestled between the Beagle Channel and the Andes Mountains in the Tierra del Fuego region.
The resort is designed as a new waterfront property featuring 60 guest rooms and suites. It will also feature a spa and wellness facility, various dining options, and meeting and event spaces to cater to both leisure and business travellers. The architectural design aims to reflect the surrounding landscape while incorporating materials and design elements unique to the region.

The development is being carried out in collaboration with Fideicomiso Urbanización Monte Susana, a local group with extensive experience in residential projects in Ushuaia and throughout Tierra del Fuego. This resort is part of the larger Costa Susana project, which is designed as a mixed-use district with a strong emphasis on environmental responsibility. Costa Susana is recognized as the first carbon-neutral real estate development in Argentina and has been nominated in the Landscape and Environment category at the World Architecture Festival.

Situated near the border of Tierra del Fuego National Park, the resort is ideally located for a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, sailing, skiing, and wildlife observation. Ushuaia is also known as a departure point for Antarctic cruise expeditions, providing unique experiences such as the End of the World Train and visits to maritime heritage sites.

The resort will be situated a short distance from Ushuaia International Airport, which maintains regular air links with Buenos Aires and other domestic destinations. This connectivity is expected to support year-round visitation from both domestic and international travelers.
The signing marks a significant expansion step for Minor Hotels in the Americas, aligning with the group’s strategy to introduce the Anantara brand to additional regional destinations over the coming years.
