TAAI Concludes 68th Convention and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi
The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) successfully hosted its 68th Convention and Exhibition in Abu Dhabi from September 17 to 19, 2025. The event included knowledge sessions, panel discussions, networking opportunities, cultural programs, and tours for delegates. Over 540 delegates attended the Convention, which was organized and executed within a six-week timeframe. The event featured two days of knowledge sessions held in the Al Bateen Ballroom at the Grand Hyatt Abu Dhabi, where speakers addressed current and emerging issues in the travel and tourism sector.
The India Travel & Tourism Expo, held in conjunction with the Convention, featured 43 exhibitor stalls and generated strong engagement from attendees.
Senior officials from the Department of Culture and Tourism in Abu Dhabi, the Indian Embassy, and representatives from the travel and hospitality sectors attended the opening ceremony. His Excellency Saleh Al Geziry, the Director General of the Tourism Sector, inaugurated the event. Other dignitaries present included His Excellency Saeed Ali Al Fazari, the Executive Director of Strategy Affairs; Mr. Mubarak Hamad Al Shamsi, the Director of the Abu Dhabi Conventions and Exhibition Bureau; and Mr. A. Amarnath, the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
During the Convention, TAAI presented its Distinguished Leader Award of the Year to Mr Zubin Karkaria, CEO of VFS Global. Keynote speakers included Mr Peiters Elbers, CEO of IndiGo Airlines, and Ms Alexis Guest, Vice President, Global Operators, Travelport.

Several prominent venues hosted events, including the Emirates Palace, Mandarin Oriental Abu Dhabi, InterContinental Abu Dhabi, and ONE OCEAN at Yas Waterworld. The theme of the convention, “Business with Goodness,” was emphasized during a session at the BAPS Temple Convention Hall, featuring an address by His Holiness Swami Brahmaviharidas.
Delegates also explored cultural landmarks, such as Qasr Al Watan Palace, the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, teamLab Phenomena, the Louvre Abu Dhabi, and the National Aquarium. A post-convention tour included a two-night stay in Al Ain. Evening programs featured cultural performances, music, and dance acts, which encouraged informal networking and engagement among delegates.
