Emirates Flight Catering’s AED 160M Laundry Expansion

Emirates Flight Catering has broken ground on a new AED 160 million (USD 44 million) laundry facility at Dubai Investment Park, expanding the capabilities of its laundry services arm, Linencraft. The move supports growing demand from the UAE’s hospitality, aviation, and healthcare sectors.

The facility will boost Linencraft’s operational capacity by over 50%, enabling it to serve 40 additional hospitality clients and create 400 new jobs. Designed for scalability and efficiency, the site incorporates automated systems to reduce manual handling and support consistent, high-volume output, while integrating energy-efficient systems to lower its environmental footprint.

This investment aligns with broader demand growth in the UAE, driven by upcoming international events, the expansion of Dubai Airport, and over 10,000 new hotel rooms expected by 2027. Linencraft’s new plant will add 150 tons of daily capacity to its current network, which processes 280 tons across four sites. It will feature two modular hospitality laundry units (142 tons daily) and a dedicated garment plant (28,000 pieces daily).

Shahreyar Nawabi, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Flight Catering, said: “Linencraft has long set the benchmark for quality and reliability in the UAE’s laundry sector. This bold investment reflects both the scale of opportunity we see in the market and our determination to lead the industry forward. With this advanced facility, we’re not just increasing capacity – we’re setting new standards through smart technology and a sharp focus on sustainability.”

Waddah Basmaji, Managing Director of Asia Prime General Contracting said:“At Asia Prime, we take immense pride in partnering with Emirates Flight Catering on Linencraft’s new facility. This groundbreaking marks more than the beginning of construction, it symbolizes our commitment to quality and delivering beyond expectations. Our focus is to ensure Emirates Flight Catering’s complete satisfaction by upholding the highest standards throughout every phase of the project. We are honoured to play a part in their continued growth and operational excellence.”

The project is being developed by Asia Prime General Contracting, with Managing Director Waddah Basmaji noting the firm’s focus on delivering to high standards at every project phase.
