PT AirAsia Indonesia Reports IDR 3.98 Trillion in H1 2025 Revenue, Narrows Losses by 39%
PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (AAID/CMPP) reported revenue of IDR 3.98 trillion for the first half of 2025, ending June 30, marking a 5.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024. The growth reflects continued recovery in the aviation sector and the impact of the company’s route network expansion.
The company carried 2.97 million passengers during this period. International route expansion contributed to this growth, including the launch of the Bali–Adelaide route in June 2025 and the earlier introduction of the Bali–Darwin route in Q1. These additions are part of broader efforts to enhance cross-border connectivity and support tourism in Indonesia.

“The increase in revenue in Semester 1 was also supported by the number of passengers which reached 2.97 million passengers. In addition, the expansion of international routes is also important, including the opening of the Bali–Adelaide route in June 2025. In the first quarter, Indonesia AirAsia had previously launched the Bali-Darwin route. These two routes are part of our ongoing efforts to expand international connectivity, while supporting the tourism sector in Indonesia,” said President Director of PT AirAsia Indonesia Tbk (AAID/CMPP), Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman, in Jakarta.
Captain Achmad added that the ongoing development of the domestic network also strengthened the company’s performance. Until the end of the first semester of 2025, Indonesia AirAsia operates 7 domestic routes and 26 international routes, reflecting its commitment to balanced growth in both segments.
Seat sales contributed IDR 3.34 trillion to total revenue, while ancillary services, including baggage, cargo, and other offerings, generated IDR 634 billion.
In H1 2025, the airline provided a total capacity of 3.60 million seats, achieving an average load factor of 83%. A total of 19,955 flights were operated. Average revenue per available seat kilometre (RASK) rose by 3.7% year-on-year.

The company reduced its net loss by 39.3% to IDR 786 billion, down from IDR 1.29 trillion in the same period last year. This improvement was supported by more efficient cost management and operational productivity gains.
Looking ahead, the airline plans to continue expanding its domestic and international network. One such initiative includes the upcoming launch of the Jakarta–Manado route in Q3 2025. The airline also aims to align its route strategy with market demand and increase the availability of Fly-Thru services connected to the wider AirAsia network, enhancing connectivity for international travellers.
Captain Achmad stated that these initiatives are intended to support tourism and contribute to the national economy, while maintaining a focus on safety, service reliability, and affordability.
