TAT Celebrates Global Wellness Day 2026 Through Wellness Tourism Initiatives
TAT Wellness Activities Promote Wellbeing Across Thailand
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) marked Global Wellness Day 2026 by supporting a series of wellness-focused activities across the country, reinforcing Thailand’s position as a destination for wellbeing, cultural experiences and nature-based travel.
Held under the global theme #JoyMagenta, the event brought together tourism organisations, hotels, wellness operators and local communities to promote experiences centred on physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Thapanee Kiatphaibool, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, said wellness continues to play an important role in the country’s tourism strategy.
She noted that through its “Healing is the New Luxury” campaign, TAT is encouraging travel experiences that help visitors reconnect with themselves, local communities and the natural environment, while supporting sustainable tourism development.
Ko Samui Highlights Active Wellness Tourism
In Ko Samui, TAT supported the Samui Jump for Wellness 2026 programme, organised in collaboration with the Samui Spa Association from 12 to 14 June 2026.
The event featured activities, including Jump Exercise and Aqua Aerobic sessions, designed to encourage physical activity and mental well-being. The initiative also supports the island’s growing wellness tourism sector and strengthens collaboration between tourism stakeholders, local businesses and community groups.
TAT said the programme aligns with efforts to position Ko Samui as a destination for active, restorative and nature-focused travel experiences.
Bangkok Event Focuses on Traditional Healing and Mindful Living
In Bangkok, TAT supported wellness activities at Anantara Riverside Bangkok Resort on 13 June, bringing together Thai and international participants for sessions centred on traditional healing practices and mindful living.
The programme explored Thai botanical traditions, movement-based wellness activities and contemporary approaches to wellbeing. Participants took part in herbal tea-blending workshops featuring locally sourced ingredients, as well as sessions such as Muay Thai, Tai Chi, yoga, and sound healing.
Held along the Chao Phraya River, the event highlighted the connection between traditional knowledge, wellness practices and everyday travel experiences.
Supporting Thailand’s Wellness Tourism Sector
Alongside activities in Ko Samui and Bangkok, hotels and wellness operators across Thailand participated in Global Wellness Day through their own programmes and experiences.
TAT said these initiatives help showcase wellness tourism through experiences linked to local culture, natural surroundings, traditional ingredients and Thai hospitality, while creating opportunities for local communities and tourism businesses.
