Sterling Darjeeling Highlights Shared Mountain Experiences with Kanchenjunga Views
One of India’s most recognized natural landmarks, Kanchenjunga, rises to 8,586 metres, making it the highest peak in India and the third-highest mountain in the world. Long associated with the eastern Himalayas, the mountain holds cultural and geographical significance for residents and visitors to the region.
Sterling Darjeeling, located in Ghoom, the highest point in Darjeeling, offers guests clear views of the Kanchenjunga range from several shared spaces across the resort. The property has been designed to encourage guests to engage with the surrounding landscape through open and accessible vantage points.
Guests can take in mountain views from the resort’s restaurant, Delicacy, as well as from outdoor areas created for shared experiences. These spaces allow families and groups to spend time together while observing the changing light and atmosphere around the mountain throughout the day.
The resort emphasises communal experiences, such as breakfast on the lawns and high tea at designated viewpoints, set against Darjeeling’s mountain backdrop. While some rooms also offer views of the Kanchenjunga range, the focus remains on common areas accessible to guests of all ages that encourage relaxation and connection with nature.

Commenting on the experience, Harinath M., Senior Vice President – Marketing, Sterling Holiday Resorts, said that Kanchenjunga plays an essential role in shaping the character of Darjeeling and the region. He added that Sterling Darjeeling features shared spaces that allow guests to experience the mountain at different times of day, reflecting the brand’s broader focus on destination-led experiences for families.
