APPOINTMENT
Noku Maldives, Vignette Collection has marked one year since the appointment of Hussain Shahid as its General Manager.

Hussain Shahid was appointed General Manager in November 2024. He brings more than 25 years of hospitality experience, spanning across operations, human resources, pre-openings, and international brand transitions.
Before joining Noku Maldives, Shahid spent over a decade with IHG Hotels & Resorts at Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma Maldives, where he grew in ranks from Director of Human Resources to Executive Assistant Manager.
He has also worked in senior leadership roles with Six Senses and Shangri-La, and has been an integral part of three hotel pre-opening projects, most notably Six Senses Zighy Bay in Oman.
Since the last one year, Hussain Shahid has focused on stabilising operations, strengthening team culture, and guiding the resort through its brand repositioning.
Beyond resort operations, he has also served on the Advisory Committee of the Maldives Association of Human Resources Professionals (MAHRP) since 2018 and has completed two terms as Chair of the Advisory Committee at the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Studies (FHTS), Maldives National University.
Reflecting on his first year at Noku Maldives, Shahid said, “Leading Noku Maldives through its transition into the Vignette Collection has been both a responsibility and a privilege. The past year has been about building strong foundations — for our people, our culture, and the guest experience — while honouring the individuality of the island. I look forward to continuing this journey with the team.”
