Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts Appoints Kamal Munasinghe as Chief Operating Officer

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts: Sri Lanka's Cinnamon Hotels expands footprint in  India, ETTravelWorld

Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has appointed Kamal Munasinghe as Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee operations across its 17 resorts and hotels in Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

With close to three decades of experience across Asia and Europe, Munasinghe will focus on strengthening operations, service delivery, and guest experiences while guiding the brand’s future direction.

He has previously held senior leadership roles with international hospitality groups before leading Cinnamon Grand Colombo and the broader Colombo portfolio. His approach emphasizes operational efficiency, service consistency, and guest-centric strategies.

In his new role, Munasinghe aims to build on Cinnamon’s positioning by combining streamlined processes, agile teams, and data-led insights with a focus on authentic experiences that reflect the culture of Sri Lanka and the Maldives.

Commenting on his appointment, Munasinghe said: “Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts has the right foundations to grow as a regional hospitality brand. Moving forward, our focus will be on balancing efficiency with creativity, consistency with local character, and global standards with authentic experiences. By investing in people and adopting innovation, we aim to strengthen the guest journey in meaningful ways.”

Munasinghe, a graduate of Schiller International University, Switzerland, has held leadership roles in Switzerland, Malaysia, and Vietnam, equipping him with broad industry insights as he takes on this role with Cinnamon Hotels & Resorts.
