Minor Hotels to Manage Sharjah Collection
Minor Hotels Partners with Shurooq to Operate Sharjah Collection
The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has appointed Minor Hotels to manage and operate Sharjah Collection, a portfolio of seven nature and heritage-inspired properties across the Emirate of Sharjah, UAE.
The agreement was signed during an official ceremony in Sharjah attended by Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Shurooq; His Excellency Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq; Amir Golbarg, Chief Operating Officer of Minor Hotels Middle East & Africa; and William Heinecke, Founder and Chairman of Minor International.
Under the agreement, Minor Hotels will oversee the management and operations of the Sharjah Collection, drawing on its hospitality expertise, commercial capabilities and international distribution network while preserving the identity and heritage of each property. Following planned investment and enhancement works, the collection will become part of Minor Hotels’ upper-upscale and luxury portfolio.
The Sharjah Collection includes seven properties located across the emirate’s coastal, desert, mountain and heritage landscapes: Al Badayer Retreat, Al Faya Retreat, Kingfisher Retreat, Moon Retreat, Najd Al Meqsar, Al Rayaheen Retreat and Nomad. Each property has been developed to reflect Sharjah’s natural surroundings, cultural heritage and commitment to sustainable tourism.
Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi said the partnership will help expand the international reach of the Sharjah Collection while maintaining the authenticity and values that define the portfolio.
Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer said the collaboration is expected to strengthen operational performance, enhance the guest experience and support the continued development of Sharjah’s tourism sector.
William Heinecke said the partnership reflects Minor Hotels’ commitment to expanding its presence in the UAE while introducing Sharjah’s culture, heritage and natural landscapes to a wider international audience.
Amir Golbarg added that Minor Hotels will focus on enhancing operations and guest services while preserving the unique identity of each retreat.
The partnership forms part of Shurooq’s broader strategy to strengthen Sharjah’s tourism sector through collaborations that support sustainable, experience-led tourism and attract a wider range of international visitors.
