Emirates Skywards Expands Miles Redemption with European Rail Travel

Emirates Skywards has launched Skywards Rail, allowing members to redeem Skywards Miles for rail travel across more than 12,000 destinations in Europe.

The new platform provides access to over 40 rail operators across 12 European countries, enabling members to book rail tickets through SkywardsRail.com using either Skywards Miles or a combination of Cash + Miles.

Members can search train schedules, choose ticket types and travel classes, and complete bookings online or via mobile devices in five languages. Rail tickets can also be booked for family and friends, with e-tickets delivered by email.

Dr Nejib Ben Khedher, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Skywards, said the initiative gives members greater flexibility in using their Skywards Miles beyond flights, allowing them to combine air and rail travel more conveniently across Europe.

Rail Operators and Routes

Skywards Rail offers access to a wide range of domestic, international and high-speed rail services operated by companies including Eurostar, Deutsche Bahn, SNCF, Trenitalia, TGV, Renfe and ÖBB. The platform also includes UK rail services such as Heathrow Express, Gatwick Express, Thameslink, Great Western Railway and ScotRail.

Example redemption options include:

  • Heathrow Express from 4,700 Skywards Miles
  • Berlin – Frankfurt from 4,100 Skywards Miles
  • Barcelona – Madrid from 5,400 Skywards Miles
  • Rome – Milan from 8,100 Skywards Miles
  • London – Paris from 9,400 Skywards Miles

Expanding the Loyalty Programme

The addition of rail travel expands the ways members can use their Skywards Miles beyond air travel.

Launched in 2000, Emirates Skywards now has more than 39 million members across 190 countries, with over 78,000 new members joining the programme each week.
