Akasa Air Welcomes 40th Aircraft
Akasa Air Fleet Reaches 40 Aircraft with Boeing 737 MAX Delivery
Akasa Air has added its 40th aircraft to the fleet, marking another step in the airline’s expansion since it began operations in August 2022.
The newly delivered Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, registered as VT-YBQ, arrived at Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru, on 3 July 2026. The aircraft completed its delivery journey from Seattle, USA, via Reykjavik, Iceland, and Cairo, Egypt, before reaching India.
The latest addition supports Akasa Air’s continued network expansion and operational growth as the airline increases its presence in the Indian and international aviation markets.
The aircraft has been configured to the airline’s specifications and is equipped with Safran Z200 seats, featuring a four-inch recline, ergonomic backrests, improved cushioning, and both USB-C and USB-A charging ports for passengers.
Akasa Air has placed an order for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 186 more aircraft scheduled for delivery over the next six years. The airline said the continued fleet expansion will support its long-term growth plans and increase its route network.
Since launching operations in 2022, Akasa Air has carried more than 28 million passengers and now serves 28 domestic and seven international destinations, including Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait City, Phuket and Hanoi.
The airline’s fleet consists entirely of Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which are designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce carbon emissions and provide a quieter cabin experience for passengers.
