Hyatt Regency Dilijan to Expand Armenia Hospitality Portfolio

Hyatt Hotels Corporation and Green Rock LLC have signed a franchise agreement to open Hyatt Regency Dilijan, marking the debut of the Hyatt Regency brand in Armenia.

The agreement was announced during a groundbreaking ceremony in Dilijan, attended by representatives from the Government of Armenia, Hyatt and Green Rock. The project forms part of Hyatt’s continued expansion across Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

The hotel will feature 205 guestrooms and suites, multiple dining venues, family entertainment facilities and a purpose-built conference centre.

Located around 90 minutes by road from Yerevan and three-and-a-half hours from Tbilisi, the property will cater to both domestic and international travellers. A rooftop helipad is also planned to improve accessibility.

Dilijan is known for its mountain landscapes, cultural heritage and national parks. Hyatt Regency Dilijan will be part of Green Rock’s wider destination development, which includes hospitality education initiatives, community spaces, restaurants and future cultural attractions such as a music hall and an art park.

The hotel is also expected to support tourism and business events in the region, with facilities designed to accommodate both leisure and corporate travellers.

Commenting on the announcement, Katerina Danekina, Chief Executive Officer of Green Rock, said the project aims to contribute to Dilijan’s tourism sector while supporting the local community and cultural development.

Ludwig Bouldoukian, Regional Vice President Development, Middle East and Africa at Hyatt, said the collaboration with Green Rock will introduce the Hyatt Regency brand to Armenia and support the destination’s development for leisure travel, meetings and events.

The development will form part of a 462,000-square-foot (43,000 sqm) mixed-use complex, featuring restaurants, bars, retail outlets, family entertainment facilities, two cinemas, and a 32,000-square-foot (3,000 sqm) wellness centre with a spa, fitness centre and outdoor pool.

The hotel will also include a conference centre capable of hosting more than 550 guests, supporting conferences, corporate meetings, weddings and social events.

The project is expected to create more than 400 jobs across hospitality, food and beverage, wellness, engineering, events and hotel operations, contributing to employment and skills development in the region.

Construction timelines and the hotel’s opening date will be announced at a later stage.
