APPOINTMENT

Minor Hotels has appointed Sonia Sammut as General Manager of Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort.
The appointment follows her recent tenure as Resort Manager at the property and reflects a continuation of the resort’s existing leadership structure.
Sammut brings close to two decades of experience in luxury hospitality and has been associated with Minor Hotels across several senior operational roles in the UAE. In her most recent position as Resort Manager at Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort, she was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the resort’s 70 villas, managing multidisciplinary teams, and supporting the delivery of personalised guest experiences. During this period, she was also involved in strengthening coordination with ownership stakeholders and supporting operational consistency across the resort.

Prior to this, Sammut held leadership roles at Anantara The Palm Dubai Residences, where her responsibilities included implementing a facilities management framework, supporting sustainability initiatives, and overseeing aspects of the residential guest experience. Earlier in her career with Minor Hotels, she was part of the pre-opening leadership team at DUKES Dubai, contributing to recruitment, training, and guest experience planning ahead of the property’s launch.
In her new role as General Manager, Sammut will oversee overall resort operations, team leadership, guest experience strategy, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on maintaining service standards and operational efficiency.

Commenting on the appointment, David Todd, Vice President Operations, Minor Hotels Middle East, said:

Anantara World Islands Dubai Resort is truly unique, and I look forward to working alongside our talented team and valued partners to further elevate the guest experience and shape an exciting future for the resort.
