Anantara Celebrates 25 Years of Hospitality Growth
Minor Hotels Marks Anantara Anniversary with Global Campaign
Minor Hotels is marking the 25th anniversary of Anantara Hotels & Resorts with the launch of a global campaign titled “25 Years of Unforgettable Journeys”.
The anniversary highlights the growth of the Anantara brand from a single property in Thailand to a portfolio of more than 50 hotels and resorts across 24 countries.

Founded in 2001 by William Heinecke, Chairman and Founder of Minor International, Anantara was created to focus on destination-led hospitality experiences rooted in local culture, design and cuisine. The brand name is derived from the Sanskrit word meaning “without end”.
The first property, Anantara Hua Hin Resort, opened in March 2001 in Hua Hin, Thailand. Designed to reflect a traditional Thai village setting, the resort established the brand’s early focus on cultural immersion and local experiences.
Following its launch in Thailand, Anantara expanded internationally with the opening of Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort in 2006, and later expanded across the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe. In recent years, the brand has added properties in destinations including Rome, Amsterdam, Budapest, Dublin, Nice and Vienna.
Minor Hotels has also announced future Anantara developments in Australia, Japan, Egypt, Croatia, Argentina, Turks & Caicos and the United States. The company is additionally preparing to introduce Anantara Tented Camps in 2026, beginning with a property near Zambia’s Kafue National Park.
As part of the anniversary campaign, Anantara has launched a “People Who Inspire” series featuring team members from properties across its global network. The programme focuses on individuals involved in guest experiences, including cultural guides, artisans and hospitality staff.
The anniversary celebrations will feature destination-specific experiences, dining events, and wellness activities at participating Minor Hotels Anantara properties throughout the year.
