IHG Signs InterContinental Eros Hotel in New Delhi
Agreement with Eros Group to Bring InterContinental Brand Back to Nehru Place
IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Eros Group to open InterContinental Eros New Delhi Nehru Place. The hotel is expected to operate under the InterContinental brand following a renovation, with completion planned for 2029.
The development is part of IHG’s strategy to expand its luxury and lifestyle portfolio in India, particularly across key urban markets.
Location and Property Details

Located in Nehru Place, a commercial district in South Delhi, the hotel will include 216 rooms and suites, along with multiple dining options, including restaurants, a bar and a lobby lounge.
The property will also feature meeting and event spaces, including a ballroom, smaller meeting rooms and outdoor areas suited for corporate and social gatherings. Recreational facilities, such as a spa, fitness centre, and swimming pool, are also planned.
The site is close to key transport links, including the Nehru Place Metro Station, and provides access to cultural landmarks such as the Lotus Temple and Kalkaji Mandir.
Partnership and Market Context
According to Sudeep Jain, the partnership with Eros Group reflects continued collaboration between the two organisations and aligns with IHG’s plans to expand its presence in Delhi.
Satish Sood noted that the agreement supports the group’s focus on developing hospitality assets in major cities and strengthening its association with international hotel brands.
Brand Expansion in India

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts continues to expand its presence in India across both city and leisure destinations. The signing in New Delhi adds to IHG’s existing portfolio in the country, which includes multiple brands across different segments.
IHG currently operates 51 hotels across six brands in India and has a pipeline of additional properties under development as part of its expansion plans.
Project Background

The property was originally launched in 1996 and operated under the InterContinental brand for several years before functioning independently as Eros Hotel New Delhi. With this agreement, the hotel will return to the IHG system under the InterContinental brand following renovation.
